Two types of teams were formed: School Teams and Wild Card (WC) Teams
School Team Selection Criteria
The top 4 students from each participating school (with more than 4 participants above the minimum benchmark) were selected.
If marks of 2 or more candidates were the same, the number of question based on difficulty level was checked. The candidate which answered more difficult questions was selected.
If the difficulty level of questions attempted by 2 or more candidates were the same, the candidate who was in a lower class got selected.
If the classes were same as well, some candidates were transferred to a Wild Card Team.
Wild Card Team Selection Criteria
Teams of candidates who are:
Either not among the top 4 in their school but their marks are above the minimum benchmark
Or there are less than 4 students from their school but their marks are above the minimum benchmark
We wanted to ensure that each participant had an equal opportunity of qualifying for the second round, regardless of other factors.
It is the mark calculated by considering the relative marks of top one-third participants.
